Karen  Welch (External Consultant)

Karen is a qualified professional Information Scientist. She has over 20 years practical experience, gained in managing, analysing and disseminating medical and business information for several European and global pharmaceutical companies  giving her an excellent background in clinical knowledge and insight into a variety of therapeutic categories. 

She has worked on a Global Business Integration Project for pharmaceutical manufacturing and has compiled and updated SOPs. NHS experience was gained as a Nursing Information Manager. 

She has been involved in primary research for Academia and has conducted telephone interviewing  research for the Defence sector. 

Karen’s particular expertise lies in a passion for literature searching and eking out a targeted  set of results that match the clients needs. This is based on a sound knowledge and ability to select the appropriate online or web source or to use a contact from her network. In addition, she enjoys manning company stands at external meetings and has extensive experience of providing a literature search service to delegates. 

Karen’s personal interests include travelling, literature, art, theatre, ballet, opera, National Trust and cycling.
